The zone is at the center of the Nanning-Guiyang-Kunming economic corridor. Linking with expressway, the zone is 158 km west to Guiyang, the provincial capital. It leads directly to central China via 302 national highway and the Guiyang-Zhuzhou rail line. Southwards, it can reach sea via Qinzhou Port. The electric resources here are plentiful, for it is one of the key bases for the electricity transmission from the west to the east China. The development zone is covered by a network of program-controlled telephone, radio beeper and mobile communication. At present, there are two SOEs of Electronic Component Plants of Hongyuan and Xinyun, and some JV enterprises of Guizhou Yunli Electronics Co. Ltd, guizhou Hongyi Electronics Co. Ltd, etc. Their annual earning of foreign currency amount to 6.2 million US dollars.

There are some well-known villages in the zone, for instance, the Tongshu Viuage---“the township of China’s modern ethnic and folk painting”, the Taohua Village---a noted provincial village for ethnic sports, etc. The zone is rich in tourism resources such as the scenic spots along the beautiful Qingshui River---the Sun Island and the Sickle Bay. Southeast Guizhou is a tourist designation listed as “returning to simplicity and nature” by the world Native Culture Foundation of the UN.

The finance and plan of the zone are administrated separately with dependent, simplified and efficient organizations. They will Provide investors with first-class services. People from the investment promotion bureau will go through relevant formalities for any enterprises until their operations. In addition to preferential policies for the western development, enterprises in the zone can also enjoy special supporting policies for ethnic reform and opening pilot and favorable policies made by the zone.
